Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Small onion
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 8 oz Mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp of water for thickening
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the Patties: In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Shape into 4 oval patties.
  • Cook the Patties: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes each side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and sauté until browned. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  • Thicken the Gravy: Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the broth. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for 10 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through.
  • Serve: Spoon the mushroom gravy over the Salisbury steaks and enjoy with your choice of sides.
